Market for promotional goodies still growing
A recent article in the Arizona Republic on promotional products shows the industry is still growing at a fast pace!The article shows statistics that the industry is currently growing at a rate faster than the US economy.
Other statistics show spending on promotional products in 2005 was twice as large as Internet display advertising, five times greater than outdoor advertising and more than cable TV advertising.
Here's some interesting notes from the article:
- Matchbooks, calendars and pens remain popular giveaways, companies are also seeking high-end silk shirts, leather jackets, briefcases and crystal vases to send as gifts
- Corporate buyers are pushing for more products that follow retail trends in clothing and gadgets. Examples include USB hubs to transfer data and silicon bands
- Companies also are seeking more functional products, such as sunscreen, water bottles and polycarb drinking containers with logos on them
- New and cool product Gumvelopes. Gumvelopes are being used at trade shows for their usefulness in masking the potential for bad breath!
